State Fisheries Input Scheme

The scheme “State Fisheries Input Scheme” was launched by the Department of Fisheries, Government of Uttarakhand. It aims to enhance the productivity and income of fish farmers by providing financial support in the form of subsidies on essential fishery inputs such as hand nets, hapa, nets and mini kits.

Benefits

• Fish farmers already engaged in fish farming are provided a 50% subsidy on the total cost of essential fishery inputs such as fish feed and medicines.
• A subsidy of 1 quintal of fish feed is provided for a 100 square metre pond, and 6 quintals for ponds ranging from 500 to 2000 square metres.
• A grant of 7 quintals of fish feed is provided for RAS/Biofloc systems.
• A subsidy of 10 quintals of fish feed is provided for trout farming.
• A 50% subsidy is provided on the total market-rate cost of essential materials such as hand nets, hapas, nets and mini kits.
• A 50% subsidy is admissible for one hand net/hapa/net and one mini kit per fish farmer.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Uttarakhand.
• The applicant must be currently engaged in fish farming.
• The applicant may belong to any caste category, including General, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), or be a woman.

Application Process

Offline: To avail the benefits for pond feed, medicines and other inputs, the applicant must submit an application to the Assistant Director of Fisheries or the District Fisheries In-charge Office at district level.

• Submit the application with Aadhaar card, land records, permanent residence certificate, caste certificate, bank account details, mobile number and pond details.
• Fisheries inspectors or field personnel conduct a field survey and prepare a proposal in consultation with the beneficiary.
• The concerned district officer approves the proposal. The farmer then purchases seeds, feed and medicines and submits the bills to field personnel.
• After bill verification, the district officer arranges direct transfer of 50% of the total cost as subsidy into the fish farmer’s bank account.

• Original bills or invoices of procured items such as feed, medicines and hand nets
• Any other documents as required
